Jessica Alba rules out cosmetic surgery
New Year, New Face
With ever increasing numbers of people looking to go under the knife, it is no surprise that the number of people attempting the reverse the unnatural effects of a cosmetic surgery procedure is also on the rise. The trend has become so prevalent that surgeons even have a name for these patients the undo-plasties.
Some cosmetic surgeons have claimed that the number of undo-plasties is now so high that it accounts for almost half of all the work that they do with some surgeons even promoting themselves as ‘revision plastic surgeons’.
The rise is partly thought to be because patients are increasingly turning away from the standardized, cookie-cutter appearance where everyone looks the same. It’s a bizarre turn for the industry which always tended to operate on a foundation of conforming to a standardized concept of beauty.
Despite wanting to look ‘perfect’, some patients have discovered that plastic surgery wasn’t the answer many women have had surgery such as nose jobs to change the look of their nose, only to discover that they don’t look like themselves any more, and so decide to go under the knife again in a bid to reverse the original surgery.
It isn’t just the general public who are looking to reverse the effects of cosmetic surgery musician and actress Courtney Love recently underwent a facelift. Post-surgery she said she didn’t like the results and wanted “the mouth that God gave me.” Jenna Jameson, a famous adult film star, had her famous breast implants removed last year, as did glamour model Jordan.
