UK tops table for European cosmetic surgery spending
Larger breasts without surgery?
Cosmetic surgery is on the increase in Greece with the country having the highest level of under 21s going under the knife than any other country in Western Europe.
According to figures released last week, around 15,000 young Greeks go under the knife each year with the most popular operations being nose jobs, face-lifts and breast implants. These figures compare to around 8,000 in the UK, 7,600 in Denmark and 5,400 in Italy.
The figures show that around 24% of cosmetic surgery operations in Greece are on patients under the age of 21. This figure is one of the highest rates not just in Europe, but also the World.
Greek men are also increasing turning to surgery to enhance their looks. Several years ago, around 15% of patients were men. Now, around 30% of patients are men. Nose jobs are the most popular cosmetic procedure for both sexes, followed by face-lifts, breast enlargements, tummy tucks and liposuction for women, and corrective ear surgery, anti-wrinkle treatments and tummy tucks for men.
