Joan Collins has said she will not go under the surgeon’s knife because beauty is only skin deep and she thinks our faces should reflect our outlook on life.

However, Collins has admitted that she did once have Botox but regretted her decision to have it and has vowed never to have any form of cosmetic surgery again.

“I was 49 when I posed on the cover of Playboy magazine,” Collins explained. “I looked good, so why not? As you age, you get the face you deserve. Looking young is all about attitude – you look as old as you feel. I was born with the happy gene.

“If you are a bitter and twisted person, it will show up on your face. I have Botox once about ten years ago and I loathed it – it was unbelievably painful and it didn’t do anything. I’m too squeamish to go under the plastic surgeon’s knife. Believe it or not, I am quite happy with my face.”
