UK cosmetic surgery industry under fire
Helping new mothers shed the pounds
Are you looking to have dental cosmetic surgery done to give yourself that perfect smile? Whilst a perfect, dazzling smile is all the rage in Hollywood, it can look slightly out of place on the majority of people.
Researchers carried out some research into the ‘perfect’ teeth and discovered there were a number of factors involved including the size and width of each tooth, the curve, colour and shape of the teeth, and the width of the mouth itself. They concluded that the perfect colour for teeth is the same whiteness as that of the patient’s whites of the eyes any brighter and the smile stands out too much from the face and looks unnatural.
Jessica Simpson is one celebrity who has a perfect smile and is one that cosmetic dentists are often asked to try and emulate. Her lips are symmetrical and her mouth is over half the width of her face. She has straight teeth with no visible deformities or restorations. The two central teeth are the dominant feature in the smile and her lower teeth are barely visible. When smiling, the ideal smile shows no more than 2mm of gum otherwise the person starts to look a little horsey.
So, if you are considering cosmetic dentistry, or you are attempting to whiten your teeth, it is worth bearing in mind these pointers as to what is a natural smile, and one which has obviously had a little outside help.
