Denise van Outen considers surgery
According to a recent report, more middle-aged British men than ever are going under the knife. Men over the age of 50 are increasingly turning to cosmetic surgery in attempts to turn back the clock. Popular treatments include eye bag removal and liposuction.
According to the Harley Medical Group, liposuction accounts for 24% of surgical procedures on men aged 50 and over. Eye bag removal (blepharoplasty) came in second, followed by face lifts.
Liposuction is used for men who are unable to shift stubborn pockets of fat. The Harley Medical Group are keen to point out the cosmetic surgery procedure should not be used as a quick fix or an easy way to shed the pounds. Good surgeons should never operate on a patient unless the patient has taken steps to reduce their weight though diet and/or exercise before seeking turning to cosmetic surgery.
Many men suffer from saggy skin areas around the eye. Removing the excess skin can often take a decade off a man’s looks, accounting for why the cosmetic surgery is so popular.
