Dr. Jan Adams, the surgeon who reportedly operated on Kanye West’s mother in an operation which later killed her, has two malpractice suits already filed for against him.
Donda West died of complications following cosmetic surgery earlier this month. West went under the knife for a tummy tuck and breast reduction. It has been reported that the surgery took over 8 hours this is twice the amount of usual amount of time for this operation and suggests that there may have been problems during the surgery. West was then allegedly sent home instead of spending time recuperating in hospital.
It appears that her surgeon, Dr. Adams, has a series of black marks against his name he is not a Board Certified member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Medical Board of California is deliberating whether his license should be revoked or suspended.
In the past four years, Dr. Adams has been arrested twice for driving under the influence of alcohol in 2003, he pleaded no contest to a charge of drunken driving and in 2006, he was found guilty of driving with a blood alcohol level of over 0.08.
In 2001, two malpractice suits were filed against him. Both ended in settlements one for $217,337 and one for $250,000. Earlier this year, the executive director of the Medical Board of California filed a complaint with the state against Dr. Adams.
